Newcomer Faruk Kabir is playing many roles in his first ever outing - 'Allah Ke Banday'. Not just has he been responsible for directing and acting in this action-dramatic fare, he has also written the story, screenplay, dialogue and a song for the film. With so much being done by him when it came to his dream project, doesn't he feel that eventually it was a burden on him to act as well as direct?
"Honestly, when I wrote the film, the idea was to only direct it and not act", confesses Faruk who chose an unusual subject about teenagers taking to crime for his first film, "However, whichever actor that I approached, he was intimidated by Sharman's role. There were two or three actors who came close to doing it as well but then there were some other issues related to dates. We too were also pressed with time and had to take a decision pronto."
With the date of shooting coming closer and all locations locked, Faruk was left with no choice but to bring himself in front of camera as well.
"We couldn't forever wait for a leading man because we were getting close to the planned shooting schedule. We had to take a call and in consultation with my producer, it was decided that I would don yet another hat, that of an actor as well, in the film", reveals Faruk.
Starring Naseeruddin Shah, Atul Kulkarni and Anjana Sukhani as the other lead protagonists, 'Allah Ke Banday' releases all over on 12th November.
