On the concluding day at the 6th World Kannada Conference at Edison, New Jersey – Sunday evening at the cultural evening, the Kannada film awards for the first time was given in a splendid attendance.

The brand ambassador of the 6th WKC of American Kannada Koota Association, Puneeth Rajkumar was crowned the best actor award for his performance in ‘Raam’. The charming beauty Aindrita Ray received the best actress award at first ever Kannada international awards for her performance in ‘Manasaare’.

The 100 plus comedy hero and politician who is vice president of KSRTC in the BJP ruled Karnataka state Jaggesh received the lifetime achievement award. For Mathe Bandha Ganesha film Vijaya Raghavendra also bagged the award in a crowded gathering that liked the stepping of stars than songs at the event. The other awards went to Harsha for best choreographer; Santosh of Nooru Janmaku bagged the best upcoming actor.

Jhenkar dance and music team thrilled with selected songs. Puneeth Rajakumar danced for ‘Milana’ song ‘Ninnindhale…’ and ‘Hey Paaru…’, Vijaya Raghavendra danced for Bhagyadha balegara Hogi Baa…. And Mayadhanta Malebanthanna…. Aindrita Ray danced for Junglee film ‘Hale Paper Hale Kabbina….Santosh, Srimurali also took part in the cultural activities.

The classical musical evening by Dr M Balamuralikrishna, Lahri Recording Company 300 songs VCD’s, Hasyotsava, literary meet ‘Yava Mohana Murali Kareyathu that was a video conference was received well. Poets evening, story contest, business meet, beauty contest, release of souvenirs, blood donations were part of the three days 6th WKC at New Jersey.

The theme song of this 6th WKC ‘Alle Huttidaru Ille Huttidaru….penned by Dr HS Venkatesha Murthy was scored by Sunitha Ananthaswamy was welcomed with huge applaud on the inaugural day.

32 legislators from Karnataka with their families attended the event in USA. Prominent among them are – DS Shankaramurthy, Jagadish Shettar, Narendra Swamy, Satish Reddy, Mukyamantri Chandru, actor cum politician Jaggesh and others.
