The grapevines had been churning this titbit for sometime now… If you remember, Sanjay Dutt’s wife Maanyata had done a sizzling item song for Prakash Jha’s ‘Gangaajal’. Although her number is a history, it started to surface when the film has been technically enhanced. Our industry aunties then started saying that Sanjay is embarrassed with the song and had requested the filmmaker to snip it away.

However, the actor has now said to have rubbished the speculations and clarified the matter to sources. Sanjay stated that he’s proud of his wife and about her decisions she’d made in the past. “Maanyata is the love of my life and I am proud of her choices. I am not embarrassed about the song, so there is no question of me wanting to have it removed,” said the actor.

Sanjay also went to stand by the director by praising him and his work. “Prakash Jha is a sensible and talented director you cannot expect nonsense from him. The song in the film is an important requirement as it takes the story forward; it's not for mere entertainment purpose,” clarified Dutt.
