Only two weeks more for the most anticipated film of the year to unfold. Mani Ratnam’s trilingual ‘Raavan’ is just waiting patiently to show its magic on screens, releasing on June 18th. However international audience will have the first access to the film, as its world premiere falls on June 16 in London.

Directed by Mani Ratnam and co-produced by Reliance BIG Pictures, ‘Raavan’ is a launch pad for south star Vikram in Hindi. A vague adaptation of 'Ramayana', in ‘Raavan’ Vikram plays Dev Pratap Sharma (aka Ram) who is a tough police officer while Aishwarya Rai features as his wife Ragini (Sita). Abhishek Bachchan dons the role of Beera, the tribal leader bringing out dark shades in the film. Govinda and Ravi Kishan also play prominent characters here.

Did you know that it was Mani who designed Abhishek’s looks? Well, story goes back to their ‘Yuva’ days… In fact the filmmaker wanted the actor to don a cropped hair for ‘Yuva’. But Abhishek was apprehensive about the idea, lest it affects his other projects. But at the same time Abhishek promised Mani that one day he will surely take his styling suggestion. And the result is his hairstyle in ‘Raavan’, thus keeping his promise.
