Raavan - Stills

The promos are just thumping around, echoing the coming of new-aged ‘Raavan’. But hold on there, he is not the one who landed down from the age-old epic Ramayan. Yah obviously he doesn’t have ten heads, however, the character of Abhishek Bachchan in Mani Ratnam’s ‘Raavan’ is just a page taken from the real character.

Reveals Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to a source, that in fact this film cannot be compared to any mythology or epic. The title ‘Raavan’ said to have been taken just because Abhishek’s character behaves badly.

Ash went to add that this Raavan is a man who can also have good qualities as well as bad qualities. At one moment he is cool man and the very next moment he acts crazy mean.

And the same goes to Aishwarya’s role too. She stated that her character had been a discovery for her; in a way that through this film she discovered her new self. “Ragini is a unique woman and a strong character which I personally can relate to,” had said Aishwarya about her character.

Incidentally, director Mani Ratnam said to have visualised Ragini’s character, when Aishwarya had been doing the rain song “Nanna re” of his earlier film ‘Guru’.
