Paathshaala - Stills

Bollywood’s prince charming is serious and is not happy with the educational system in our country. The actor plays an English teacher in his upcoming flick ‘Paathshaala’, wherein he fights to change the money making education system of the country.

Shahid Kapoor’s character tries to expose the government’s hollow claim of making primary education a fundamental right under part III of the constitution when a large number of children were being thrown out of schools for want of fee and other monetary reasons.

Shahid tries to understand the problems of children from their points of view and get that across to parents, teachers and other educators so that the system could help in producing better citizens, rather than forcing them to cram the subjects and pass examinations.

Shahid Kapoor hopes to deliver a clear message to the society that children need to be dealt with in a different way than present educational system focusing on deriving maximum profits for the institution.

The movie has been produced by Shahid’s friend and choreographer Ahmed Khan.
