Internationally-renowned actress Aishwarya Rai may not have been called a great performer, but when it comes to being part of films that ride on billions, none can match to her stature. Year 2010 will probably be termed her most important year as an actress.
This year, the actress has four mega films releasing one after another. To begin with, she has two films, together which cost to the tune of Rs. 160 crores. Directed by Kollywood's ace directors, Mani Ratnam and Shankar, Raavan and Yanthram (Endhiran in Tamil) are being made on a budget of Rs. 40 crores and Rs. 110 crores, respectively. Both the films will see extraordinary release in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu, the latter on a much bigger scale, of course (as it stars Rajinikanth as the male lead).
In her Bollywood turf, she has been signed for two films, titled Guzaarish and Action Replay. The films are together budgeted at Rs. 120 crores.
Roles wise too, Aishwarya is damn lucky and has a possibility to prove herself as an actress of mettle. In Raavan, she plays Sita and in Yanthram, she plays a housewife. In Guzaarish, directed by India's finest filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, she will be seen in the role of a nurse, while Action Replay will see her do some action.
