Wherever he goes, the legendary star grabs some prestigious recognition or the other.

Amitabh Bachchan who had been in London for a charity event, was presented with a unique memento by British Prime Minister Gordon Brown.

Mr. Bachchan received a Mobile Diabetes Unit – a bus named as ‘Amitabh’ in the honour of the star. This vehicle in fact would help screen people in Mumbai for diabetes. It is reported to have been donated by diabetes prevention charity organisation ‘Silver Star’ that was founded by Indian-origin Labour MP, Keith Vaz in 2007.

Mr. Brown had been very impressed with Big B and stated him “one of the greatest talents of our generation”. The event was also graced by Sanjay Dutt and Shilpa Shetty.

Earlier Amitabh had launched the first Module Diabetic Unit (MDU) in Goa. Referring to the new van, the humble star said that it is little embarrassing to have named the van ‘Amitabh’. He is now looking forward to the other MDUs which will be launched in Delhi and Kerala as well.
