Director Balaji Sakthivel who was lying low after ‘Kalloori’ is starting a new film which will be a commercial entertainer.

Balaji Sakthivel who started off well with ‘Samurai’ starring Vikram reached a new level with the gripping film ‘Kadhal’. His following ‘Kalloori’ was appreciated only by the class but let down by the mass. So Balaji was taking his time to start his next.

Balaji who was seen as a director of realistic films is going for a make over with the film ‘Vazhaku En 18/7’ to be produced by Lingusamy under Thirupathi Brothers. Though called a commercial film, ‘Vazhaku En 18/7’ will have Balaji’s directorial touches. Two new faces Naveen Rai and Prajna are being introduced in lead roles. Even most of the other characters in the film will be played by new comers.

The film is about a love, the crime affected by that love and the consequences of the crime. So it will be on crime and romance. Vijay Milton is holding the camera.

As the pre production work is complete the shooting will start in the first week of March. Balaji is making every effort to make this film a big success.
