Finally the sun has shone over Karthi’s ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’. The Pongal race is getting hotter as more competitors are entering the race. Now the latest who has jumped in is this, is the Karthi-Reema Sen-Andrea-Parthiban action extravaganza. Directed by Selvaraghavan ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’ is made with a whooping budget of Rs 31 crores.

From yesterday, newspaper ads and posters are seen everywhere announcing the film’s release for the Thamizhar Thirunaal. On top of that, the director and the producer of the film had confirmed that ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’ will be hitting the screens on the special day!

When asked about the film, producer Raveendran says, "It is a movie that is technically rich and would definitely take Tamil cinema to next-level. The story is different from the run-of-the-mill stuff. The story has been narrated in a different way. It begins in 2009 and goes back to early 12th century. The film is ready now and is getting released for Pongal.”

Director Selvaraghavan said, “I guarantee that the film will be ready for a Pongal 2010 release. All the CG and graphic work of the film is over. The re-recording will be over in the next two days and then the final mixing will start, as of now we will be censoring the film before Christmas and it will be the big Pongal release.”

G V Prakash has scored music for the movie and the background score is expected to be a major highlight. So, finally the disputes and speculations of ‘Paiyaa’ and ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’ release dates have come to and end. We can expect to see ‘Paiyaa’ only after a minimum of 25 days after Pongal.
