MAMI to honour Big B & Shashi Kapoor

Bollywood’s living legends Amitabh Bachchan and Shashi Kapoor will be honoured by the Mumbai Academy of Moving Image (MAMI) at the Mumbai Film Festival (MFF).

While Amitabh Bachchan will be honoured for his 40-yr stint in cinema, Shashi Kapoor will be awarded with Indian Lifetime Achievement Award. Director-producer Yash Chopra is reported to be felicitated by the International Federation of Film Producers Association (FIAPF). Whereas, a special tribute will be paid to the late legendary filmmaker B R Chopra and to mark this occasion, his son Ravi Chopra will present with the screening of the filmmaker’s 1957movie ‘Naya Daur’.

The festival will also honour Greek filmmaker Theo Angelopoulos with International Lifetime Achievement Award. The chief guest at the inaugural function of the festival will be I&B Minister Ambika Soni.

MFF will commence from October 29 and the curtains will come down on November 5, 2009
