They already have Indians in their charm, now they have even won over the international viewers through Oprah. Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were called upon as the guests on the popular Oprah Winfreys show. The Bollywoods beautiful couple impressed the host and the audience by coming on-stage holding hands and taking their seat together for the first time on a show. However, Aishwarya had appeared on this show earlier, few years back.
Oprah introduced the audience to the couple thus, India's Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan have five Billion, yes, I said five Billion fans around the globe. She has been called the world's most beautiful woman and he is not so bad himself! They are husband and wife, and superstars of Bollywood. Aishwarya was dressed traditionally, complete with a bindi while Abhishek was looking handsome with a cropped hairstyle. Adding a touch of casualness, Oprah was calling the actors with their short names Abee (for Abhi) and Aish. The audience was treated with some footage of the hundreds of fans outside the Bachchan residence to catch a glimpse of the stars. It also showed some people getting beaten up, at which Aish and Abhi cried, "Sorry" and later Abhi said, "I didn't know this was happening.
The couple went on to speak about Indian family values and traditions. Explaining to the western audience, the couple stated that it is completely normal and natural to live with ones parents. They even talked on Bollywood movies. Oprah was amused to find out that here in movies actors dont kiss. To prove the point, Abhi said, For example, boy meets girl, they fall in love, they want to express their love for each other. So in the West, they would kiss, and they're in love. In India, we have a song. You have this intimate moment, and suddenlysnap, cutyou're in the mountains singing and dancing! while Aish added to say its fun!
There were lighter moments when Abhi recalled the day he proposed Aish in a hotels balcony. In all, our Bollywood jodi won over the pardesis, we say!
