After his totally different roles in ‘Rock On’ and the recently released ‘Luck By Chance’, filmmakers are increasingly seeing Farhan Akhtar as an actor who can fit into any kind of characters.

Respected film maker Sudhir Mishra has now roped in Farhan to play lead role in a film that will dwell upon the political dynamics of a man-woman relationship. For playing his lady love, Kareena Kapoor is the one who has been selected.

Farhan, though he has proved his stupendous skills in making films, is a new actor when compared with Kareena’s experience in handling characters.

But this unusual and never expected pairing is clearly communicating that making onscreen couples based on their star status is slowly becoming a passé in B-Town.

Now irrespective of a certain image, experience and budget, what matters the most is an innovative idea, a good gripping contemporary story and a clear-headed director with conviction.

Farhan talking on his role said, “I am looking forward to working with Kareena. She has been a friend for many years. This script gives both of us a chance to try something we have not done before. Kareena has a role to die for. It is a hugely fascinating part. When Sudhir Mishra narrated the script I liked it immediately. We are in the process of finalizing the deal.”

The yet to be titled movie will be financed by Excel Entertainment owned by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani.
