According to reliable sources the Big B Amitab Bachchan, Tamil superstars Rajinikanth, Kamal Hassan, mega star Chiranjeevi, Prakash Raj, Arjun Sarja, Murali, Bollywood yesteryears actress Rekha, Ambika, Radhika, Saritha, Kushboo, Geetha, Madhavi, Juhi Chawla, Shilpa Shetty and other top stars who have acted in Kannada films and technicians are making it to the platinum jubilee of Kannada cinema 'Amrutha Mahotsava' slated to begin on March 1 in a grand scale at Bangalore Palace. The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce headed by Dr. Jayamala has made a list of 50 plus prominent personalities who have contributed to the Kannada films to honor on the occasion of 'Amrutha Mahotasava'.
The invitation has been extended to former chief minister of Tamil Nadu to Dr. Jayalalithaa as she has acted in a few Kannada films in the beginning of her career to receive the honor at the 'Amrutha Mahotsava' of Kannada cinema, says the sources.
Amitabh Bachchan made a guest appearance in Kannada film 'Amrutha Dhare', style King Rajinikanth made debut from S.R. Puttanna Kanagal's 'Katha Sangama' and later acted many Kannada films, Kamal Hassan also has number of Kannada films to his credit notable among them is 'Pushpaka Vimana' and the latest 'Rama Shama Bhama', actors like Prakash Rai, Arjun, Murali who are big stars in Tamil have Kannada origin and acted in Kannada films in the beginning of their career. They are all expected to turn up at the huge dais at Bangalore Palace to receive the honor from Kannada film industry. Telugu mega star Chiranjeevi acted in Kannada cinema 'Sipayi' with crazy star V.Ravichandran and Soundarya.
Among the singers Dr. K.J. Yesudas, Dr PB Srinivos, Dr.SPB, S.Janaki, P Susheela, L.R.Eshwari, Vani Jayaram and others will receive the honor. Music directors like music maestro Ilayaraja, Deva and others who worked for Kannada film will be invited to receive the honor.
The dream merchant of Kannada cinema V. Ravichandran is in charge of the cultural feast on March 1st. The 75 books on those who contributed to Kannada film industry and left us their memories will be released in the editorship of Dr. Baraguru Ramachandrappa. Prominent 108 Kannada film personalities from all sectors will be honored on this three day mega event. The top film personalities of Kannada cinema will speak about the contribution of top contributors as a remembrance of those who constructed the Kannada cinema industry.
Starting from 17th February, a 15 day holiday has been declared for the entire filmdom. The screening of films will not be affected.
