Some time back there was news about the veteran director Shyam Benegal planning a movie titled as 'Chamki'.

Then nothing more was heard about the project and Mr.Benegal went on to do the now successful film 'Welcome to Sajjanpur'.

Now as the movie of Shreyas Talpade has been getting positive reviews from every other film critic and the film watchers have loved it for the interesting characters and the very down to earth story set against the backdrop of a village, the interest of the media towards 'Chamki' has resurfaced.

The news that both Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor are trying to grab the lead role in 'Chamki' has added fuel to the speculations.

Shayam Benegal has cleared the clouds of predictions surrounding 'Chamki' and has revealed that the movie is indeed going to be a reality soon as Reliance has taken over the project.

But the viewers will have to wait for sometime as the right time has not yet come for starting the shooting.

Mr.Benegal said that before the production can be started, much preparation has to be undertaken and the movie can only be canned in the deserts of Rajashthan during the winter.

In the mean time, the talented director known for setting trends in realistic cinema is hoping to give life to a political satire that will be funnier and entertaining than 'Welcome To Sajjanpur'.
