Popular Kannada actor Upendra is upbeat about his maiden Tamil venture ‘Sathyam’.

Playing an important role in the movie which stars Vishal in the lead role, the movie is directed by debutant Rajasekhar.

Not keen to divulge details about his role in the film, Upendra says, 'I have always marveled at the grandeur in the Tamil film industry. People strive for perfection here. Any actor will be tempted to act in a Tamil movie.'

Upendra, who hogged the limelight in the Kannada film industry doing movies like ‘A’, ‘Sshh’, ‘Om’ and ‘H2o’, is confident that ‘Sathyam’ will give him the right break in Tamil cinema.

Asked to comment on the differences between Tamil and Kannada film industry, he says, ' there is no friction between Tamil and Kannada film industries as is being portrayed in a section of the media. There are external forces which are trying to create a divide.'

"There is a desire to act in Tamil films", he says but hastens to add, "but I am not in a hurry. I will weigh the offers cautiously".
