As Malayalam superstar Mohanlal plans to make his debut magic performance on stage titled Burning Illusion on April 27.
Majority of his fan following are divided on the star taking up such dangerous acts. The superstar is to perform the daredevil act as a curtain raiser for the four-day 'Vismayam 2008', an international magicians meet in which nearly 1,000 magicians from across the world are expected to take part.
Mohnalal has been training for the act under the guidance of Gopinath Muthukad, the ace magician, for the past 18 months at muthukad's magic Academy at the capital city. The superstar aims to motivate the Kerala youth by his act.
Like the general public, the magician community also is divided on the actor, performing such dare devil stunts. Samrat, another leading magician, advised Lal not to do it citing that even his tutor Muthukad had once failed in his attempt to perform it at Bahrain, a few years back. Samraj alleges that Muthukad is now using Mohanlal for cheap publicity and this should not result in any danger for the star.
Samrat even approached the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA) with a memorandum signed by 300 magicians, requesting it to urge Mohanlal to withdraw from the performance. The AMMA president Innocent also maintains that stars like Mohanlal must not engage in such dangerous livings, even though Lal is quite famous for taking risks.
As per the present schedules he Burning Ilusion' an open-air escape stunt, will happen at the Chandrasekharan Nair Stadium, at the capital city on the 27th of this month. The entry to the venue is free for general public.
