The present week saw the arrival of Johny Antony's 'Cycle' and Ashuthosh Gowrikar's magnum opus 'Jodaa Akbar’' made in a budget of 40 crores , into the release centers of Kerala.'Cycle' opens at the second position while Mammootty's 'Roudram' continues on the top of the list . The top five films of the weekend are:

1. 'Roudram' - The film which opened three weeks before still continues in all centers with good collections. The initial collections are amazing, all across Kerala. The punch lines scripted by Renji Panikkar and stylish sequences with Mammootty, donning the police uniform after a couple of years is said to be reasons for the consistent collections that the film is fetching. 'Roudram’ is already declared as a ‘big hit’ among filmi circles.

2. ‘Cycle' - After 'Chocolate' it is now the turn of cycle to bring back the youth audience to theatres. The film with a fresh young cast seems to be an instant hit, with good word of mouth. In the coming weeks, cycle is sure to pose threats to ‘Roudram’ for the top spot.

3.'The Sound Of Boot' - Suresh Gopi's first movie in 2008 created mixed responses among audiences, but the different treatment and narrative styles of the investigative thriller brought in good initial responses. But now on to the second weekend, the collection of the film is slipping further.

4. 'Calcutta News' - The forth weekend collection of the film is still encouraging, with more than fifty percent collections, more of family audiences, in the major centers. In lesser stations, the film has already moved out for other releases. Aggressive marketing is now the key for the film to hold on, as its re-edited version on theatres looks more refined than the original version.

5. 'College Kumaran' - Mohanlal's first movie in the new year collapses in the third week end and will probably enter his list of flops. The movie which is rumored to have been paid Mohanlal, his highest ever salary of Rs 1.25 crore, may now find it difficult to collect the same amount as its distributor share.
