The National Network for Organ Sharing and the National deceased Donor Transplantation Network will come together for a walkathon in Chennai on 4 August.
Among others taking part in the walkathon includes actor Vivekh. The theme of the rally is 'Gift of Life after Your Life is Divine'.
Stressing the need to create awareness on organ donation, the rally would be flagged off at Marina Beach on 4 August by Sandeep Rai Rathore, Joint Commissioner of Police.
Revathy Sankaran renders the theme song for the occasion.
Taking part in the rally, Vivekh would highlight on the need for organ donation.
According to Vivekh, ÂA greater awareness and higher level of transplantations activity is a must to prevent illegal kidney being bought from live donors. The walkathon is an effort towards itÂ.
