Aamir Khan began his life in films at a very young age. He debuted as a child artiste with Nasir Hussain’s Yaadon Ki Baaraat.

He also assisted Nasir Hussain for the two films Manzil Manzil and Zadardast and he then assisted Ketan Mehta who directed him for Holi.

Soon after that, he hooged the limelight when he debuted in the lead role for Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. The film also marked the directorial debut of his cousin and friend Mansoor Khan.

He soon revealed that he had got married to his long time beloved Reena. As regards career, his graph seemed to be steady and on the rise. He delivered successive hits with Dil, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, Hum Hai Rahi Pyaar Ke, Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin, Rangeela, Raja Hindustani, Sarfarosh, Ghulam, 1947 – Earth and so on and so forth.

Aamir also went on to do films with the likes of Mansoor Khan, Indra Kumar, Dharmesh Darshan and Mahesh Bhatt.

He is a complete professional, dedicated and thorough to the extent of making his costars crib and complain about working with him as they find it a bit too ‘demanding.’

After proving his mettle in film after film, Aamir has got the tag of being an outstanding actor who challenges the norms and accepted conventions in the film industry in his own unique way.

Though Aamir is meticulous and careful about his work that he does with passion, there is something that he is not too fond of. And that is keeping his privacy at stake.

After Lagaan, the 19th century period film, people sat up and took more notice of this ace actor. He slowly became a name to reckon with in every household, what with his passion for films, penchant for unconventional roles, courage and conviction to say and do the right, diligence and of course, his intellect.

Though this die-hard perfectionist and highly opinionated actor holds no significance for award functions held by print and television media, he firmly believes that refuting a National award is impertinent. That’s what we said, opinionated. But it also shows that he is someone who speaks his mind and what you see is simply what you get! He, then, lives his life on his own terms.
