The year 2006 belonged to Mohanlal.

The Malayalam superstar underlined his supremacy with a clutch of big hits all through the year.

The industry reckons that out of his six releases last year, five were big ones.

The last release Baba Kalyani is now running to packed houses.

Now Mohanlal, who is basking in all the success, says that he is hoping big on Sholay. "I am a fan of Amitabh, and it is a privilege to act alongside him."

Mohanlal has also said that in Malayalam many scriptwriters are turning directors. "They focus on telling a story. But miss out on the technical aspects," he points out.

True indeed.
