The veteran actress Leelavathi admitted that the last fifteen minutes of 'Kannadadha Kandha' is nothing but her life story that also relates to her son Vinodraj's birth. She declined to reveal the name of the person but says everyone knows about it. It has been an open secret since a long time. I have put it on screen today because I cannot tolerate it in my heart anymore. Probably because of this episode the film 'Kannadadha Kandha' is running to packed houses she smiles.

In the last 45 years of my career I have wept enough on and off screen. Had I collected it you would have found a pond says the veteran actress on the stresses and strains she received in life. From the money I acted in over 300 films in all South Indian languages I have bought land. I did not buy car and went behind high class life. I believed in 'land' (Bhoomi Thaayi) and taken up 'Agriculture'. This has landed me safely today with enough to live said Leelavathi on the good decision she had taken.

Making two films for my son Vinodraj I have lost money in the past. I kept quiet. But off late many of the auto drivers, hotel workers pestered me to make a film starring my son Vinodraj. Now for making 'Kannadadha Kandha' I have sold a piece of land and invested the money for the film. Leelavathi the heartthrob of yesteryears has also left an impression (she maintains an orphan house in the film) what she will be doing in rest of her life.

What is it? I write my property to my son, orphan house and donate a portion to animal care. Apparently she has a 'Blacky' that is staying with her from last 10 years. A pair of cats which she called 'Rotti Chatni' died on her lap causing great mental depression to her.
