The State government announced a tax exemption for movies titled in Tamil and soon almost all the producers and directors started to go for Tamil titles.

Almost all the films in the last couple of months had Tamil titles.

All eyes are now on Rajinikanth's Sivaji and Kamal Haasan's Dasavatharam. The two biggies are slated for release later next year.

Buzz is that both Sivaji and Dasavatharam are reportedly not Tamil titles and hence they would not be entitled for tax exemption.

Some Tamil scholars had clarified that Sivaji had its origin from Maratha warrior Veer Sivaji (Maharashtra), while Dasavatharam is a Sanskrit word.

However directors Shankar and K S Ravikumar, who are directing Sivaji and Dasavatharam respectively insist that they are Tamil titles. In the event of the concerned authorities denying to accept them as Tamil titles, no doubt that they would opt for Tamil title.
