Whats Akshay Khanna Been Upto?

Akshay Khanna is in thick of things. Firstly the family is having a tough time recovering from the wild rumour that spread even more wildly that brother Rahul Khanna had committed suicide earlier this week. While Rahul cleared the air that he is hale-n-hearty, younger bro heaved a sigh of relief. Secondly a fan alleged that Akshay had been rude to her during a date she won with him after the Aap Ki Khatir contest. Khanna Junior once again stepped in and ensured that the girl is shown a preview at a slick multiplex in Mumbai suburbs and also arranged for a car to drop her off at night after the show. The rumour that he has had a tiff with mentor Subhash Ghai is also dismissed by the moody Akshay saying that he would do anything for Ghai, if a good project comes up.
It goes without saying that Akshay Khanna is one of the most talented star-actors in Bollywood today. In the last few years starting from Dil Chahta Hai, he is one-of-the-few stars who have given consistent hits like Humraaz, Deewangi, Hungama, Hulchul and 36 China Town. His acting skills are unquestioned but his moodiness, aloofness and wariness from press has always come in for criticism. He himself is unable to understand why he is being projected in a certain manner. And he is doing little to change that image.
For the time being he is looking forward to his next release Aap Ki Khatir co-starring sexy Priyanka Chopra. Directed by Raja Hindustani director Dharmesh Darshan, AKK is a date flick, a pop corn-cola (Oops
Thats the banned word these days
isnt it!) film. The promising promos, exotic London locales and foot-tapping music have made Aap Ki Khatir an interesting proposition at the Box Office. Akshay organized a special screening of the film for dad Vinod Khanna who acted in a similar titled film in 1977 with Rekha. Khanna Senior hugged the son midway in the film. Lets see what the public has to say about the film
