What's up with Bollywood?

There are certain weeks when you see as many as 3-4-5 releases on a single Friday. And then there are weeks when just a single film releases on a particular Friday. If it is something like a 'Fanaa' or a 'Krrish' or a 'KANK' it is still understandable since biggies like these normally eat up all the screens.

But one is surprised when relatively smaller films arrive as a week's sole release, and that too when the weeks after are quite clustered. This is something that viewers will observe on August 25th when 'Aap Ki Khatir' would enjoy its status of being a sole release of the week.

Though 'Shiva' was earlier planned to come alongside, now it has been postponed further hence giving AKK a comfortable leg space. Also there are indications that Anees Bazmee's 'Sandwich' may finally make it to the screens too though there is nothing confirmed yet.

A week after AKK, even 'Lagey Raho Munnabhai' faces a similar situation as it enjoys a rather unexpected open week for itself.

Yes, 'Jaane Hoga Kya' is tentatively planned for a September 1 release too but the way it has been postponed multiple times in last few weeks, one can't really take it's status too seriously until and unless it actually arrives.

But what about the movies after these? There is a virtual mayhem expected as a mad rush begins soon after with as many as 11 confirmed releases arriving in the rest of the month!

They are 'Dil Diya Hai', 'Naksha', 'Rocky - The Rebel', 'Bas Ek Pal', 'Dor', 'Pyaar Ke Side Effects', 'Shiva', 'Jai Santoshi Maa', 'Khosla Ka Ghosla', 'Woh Lamhe', 'Zindaggi Rocks'!

Wow, what a month September should turn out to be!!!
