One of the redeeming films among the Sankranthi releases is Kokila.

Among the five releases, each one had a different theme.

Lakshmi is all about family values and loyalty. Style is about the talent of dancing and the spirit of competition. Devadasu is about love. Chukkallo Chandrudu is about the rites of passage of marriage.

But it is Kokila, which stands out for its sense of fun and the celebration of life. The easy camaraderie among youths and their essential joi de vivre has been captured beautifully in the film.

The humor element and is also very evolved. Though slightly urban in outlook, the values it stands for are pretty universal.

In that sense, Kokila deserves a watch.
