Veteran director Adoor Gopalakrishnan and megastar Mammootty's contributions to the Malayalam filmdom are matchless.

In recognizing their sincere efforts in taking Malluwood to greater heights, the Singapore-based Classic Films Club will be holding a mega event in Singapore next month to honor them.

Mamootty, who has won the national award for best actor several times, is still going strong and has been rendering blockbusters one after another.

Adoor Gopalakrishnan, who has scripted and directed nine feature films, was honoured with Dadasahed Phalke award recently.

Adoor's first film Swayamvaram won the national awards for best film, best director, best cinematographer, and best actress setting a record of sorts.

His film Kathapurushan also won him the national award for the best feature film. His films have been shown in, Cannes, Berlin, Venice, Rotterdam and Toronto and every important festival round the world.

The legends of Malayalam filmdom being honored is indeed a great news for the whole industry.
