Director M Padmakumar’s Vargam is nearing completion.

The film Vargam would be an action-packed family entertainer and not a full-fledged action movie, says the director, whose earlier film was Ammakkilikkoodu. Prithviraj dons khaki uniform for the movie.

The movie is about a corrupt police officer (Prithviraj) who gets transferred and falls in love with a school teacher played by Renuka Menon. His life takes a change from thereon, says the director.

‘I think this will be one of the most realistic cop stories to hit the Malayalam screen,’ says Prithviraj. He is donning the khaki once again after Sathyam and The Police.

His next film in Tamil, Parijatham, has just been completed. Another film in the offing is a period film based on Neela Padmanabhan’s novel, Thalaimuraigal. Haseeb, Dhalik and Noushad are producing Vargam.
