The shooting for director Shankar's new production venture Veyyil on Madurai, which is proving to be a lucky place for him.

It was in Madurai that his debut production venture Kadhal was shot extensively.

The movie went on to become a big grosser.

Veyyil, starring Bharath and Malayalam actress Bhavana is now being shot in and around Madurai.

Vasantha Balan, a one-time associate of Shankar, who directed Album is the director of Veyyil.

Besides Kadhal, movies like Gilli and Sandai Kozhi have been shot in Madurai, becoming a lucky and favorite destination for producers.
