The latest buzz doing round in film circle is that Mohanlal might play a important role in Rajinikanth's Sivaji. The movie which hit the floors on Wednesday at Hyderabad is reportedly an inspiration of Mohanlal's Naduvazhikal.

According to some reports, Rajinikanth and Shankar had contacted Mohanlal to star in the film. It seems the role was originally meant for Amitabh Bachchan but the Bollywood superstar's ill health had made them look for alternatives.

However sources close to the director have denied speaking to the actor. They are possibly looking at two options. Whether to cast Mohanlal or Mohanbabu.

Casting Mohanbabu might help the movie fetch a good price at Andhra Pradesh, traders feel.

Mohanbabu is a veteran Telugu actor-producer and a very close friend of Rajinikanth. It is not sure who would play the role. It's a toss up between Mohanlal and Mohanbabu.
