Director Lohitha Das and actress Meera Jasmine seem to share a good rapport.

The actress, who was introduced on the big screen by Lohitha Das, now plays his heroine in his debut Tamil directorial venture Kasthuri Maan.

When asked on casting her in his films regularly, Lohitha Das says, 'there is nothing between us. I am her mentor and she is my protege.'

But he does not stop with that. He goes the whole hog in his praise of the heroine.

'Meera was my find. She is an extremely talented actress and she can give what a director wants her to perform on screen'.

Speaking more on Kasthuri Maan, he says, 'the movie is a remake of my Malayalam movie and is a sensitive portrayal of human emotions. After seeing the Malayalam version, it was music director Ilayaraja who suggested me to go for the Tamil version.'

On his experiences working with Ilayaraja, he says, 'it was a great joy for me to work with such a gifted music composer. He liked the script very well and gave his best music. The songs in the film will certainly become big hits'.
