Nandha, whose Selvam hits the theatres today, is keen on establishing himself as an action-hero.

Grandson of noted politician Kannappan, he says, 'though I have so far done only romantic roles in my earlier films, Mounam Pesiyadhae, Punnagai Poovae and Selvam, my desire is to act in racy and action-packed films'.

His wish may be fulfilled in his next film Agaram where he plays an angry youngman.

Nanda is happy that Selvam has received good reviews. But he owes them to the director. 'I just did what Agathiyan wanted me to perform on screen and it has clicked well', he says.

'After Punnagai Poovae, I had no offers coming way. Hence there was a big gap. Henceforth, I will be conscious in doing movies at regular intervals and leave my mark here'.

In another of his movies, Kodambakkam directed by Jaganji, Nanda plays an assistant director desperate to establish himself in the industry. 'It would be a movie which would dwell on the travails of Tamil film industry'.

Nanda himself seems to come out on top from his travails.
