his is the month of June, and it is more than apt that a movie of almost the same name, June R, is being launched now.

And June R boasts of a heavy (literally also) female cast --- Jyothika, Kushboo and veteran actress Saritha.

The film is to be directed by a renowned ad filmmaker Revathy S Verma.

A fine arts degree holder, Revathy Verma has directed many commercials and documentaries before.

Speaking about the film, Revathy Verma says it’s a family based subject with a realistic portrayal with all commercial elements finding its place. Being my debut directorial venture, I have given my best to make it memorable.

It’s a movie throwing light on a special bondage shared by a mother and daughter played by Saritha and Jyothika respectively. Kushboo plays an important role in the movie.

Acclaimed cinematographer Madhu Ambat cranks the camera while a debutant, Sharath, scores the music.

Saritha says I rarely act in films these days. Only if I am convinced with a script I would venture to act. Revathy Verma’s script certainly impressed me.

‘June R is the character played by Jyothika and the entire movie revolves around her, Revathy Verma says.

A popular hero will be playing the hero whose name would be announced very soon.

Being produced by Ansary, June R will be shot in Chennai and Pondicherry.
