Telugu fans are one of the most open-hearted and open-minded lot in entire India.

That is good news. But for the Telugu film producers, it may not be.

The success of many dubbed films (from English and Tamil) are sending some intriguing signals to the Telugu film producers.

One of the big hits in recent times here is Chandramukhi (from Tamil).

Not long ago, Sivaputrudu did good business.

Manmadha, releasing today, with its gritty music and eye-catching glamour, is also expected to run well in Andhra.

Next on the line is Shankar's Aparichitudu. The film, starring Vikram, will have over 100 prints in Telugu itself.

So some local filmmakers are wondering whether it is worthwhile to make local films here.

Intriguing predicament, indeed.
