1) Tirupachi

Vijay was perhaps a scientist in his previous birth --- he works by a formula. And he also managed to concoct success. Tirupachi has been lapped up by his fans.

2) Ji

Ajith is at his combative best. The film's openings have dwindled, say the pundits. But Ajith's fire in the pronounced belly has not.

3) Sukran

It is as masala as they come. S A Chandrasekhar seems to have borrowed his son's mantra. Some may say it is pandering to the gallery. But the truth is the gallery is pleased and happy.

4) Kannamma

Kalaignar's dialogues still have some old magic in them. The film may be old-fashioned but that is the reassuring factor.

5) Devathiyay Kandein

Has had a late pick up. But still not good enough to salvage Dhanush's precariously sliding career.
