She had the most pleasing smile among the actress.

She had the almost-perfect figure among the heroines.

She also had a no-frills, simple style of acting.

So when Sonali Bhendre is bidding good bye to the film industry (at least for the now), there is bound to be some disappointment.

The chiseled-featured actress is on the family way (Sonali a couple of seasons ago got married to her long-standing boyfriend Goldie).

The mother-to-be is obviously elated and is looking forward to it like every woman. She is thrilled to bits and as she is expecting the stork to visit her house around August she has called off all her commitments.

She is winding up all her Bollywood films, and in Telugu after Shankardada MBBS Sonali didn't commit to any. Even when a couple of Telugu producers and directors approached her she said a firm no. At that time people looked askance at her decision, but now they understand the reason.

Once an actress becomes a mother, the heroes become slightly wary of playing them as heroines. So it remains to be seen what fate awaits Sonali.
