While earlier speculations were rife that Alia Bhatt has been chosen for 'Rock On 2', latest reports state that its Shraddha Kapoor who has bagged the movie. Buzz is that Shraddha is playing the female lead in Excel Entertainment`s 'Rock On 2', which is set to go on floors this year.

'Rock On' is a cult classic and it had great demand for a sequel. After the success of their first sequel 'Don 2', Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani are now geared up for the sequel of 'Rock On'. The film will feature the epic trio from the first part; Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal and Purab Kohli.

According to our sources, Shraddha plays a young girl who joins the band and brings about a lot of changes. We all know the 'Aashiqui 2' beauty has a beautiful voice and its no wonder that she is going to be singing in the film. Confirming the news, an elated Shraddha said, "I am extremely excited to be a part of Rock On 2. I am a big fan of the first part and and love the character I am playing in the sequel. It is a role that involves singing and live performances and that very few roles give you a chance to do."

Excel Entertainment has an exciting year with the release of 'Bangistan' and 'Dil Dhadakne Do'. Also, 'Rock On 2' goes on floors and Nitya Mehra`s film is in the pre production stage.
