The Bollywood remake of Malayalam well-acclaimed cult film 'Drishyam' is said to be shaping up well, in its pre-production stage. While Ajay Devgn will reprise the lead role, (played by Mohan Lal in original), it is now said that director Nishikant Kamat has roped in Tabu to essay the dark character.
According to sources, Tabu will play a powerful senior police officer, also a mother of a teenage boy. Going with the storyline, Tabu will be seen trying to fight against all odds to find out the killers of her son and will also be seen in verbal tussle with Ajay.
Her character is said to be very powerful and will be parallel to the lead hero. Confirming this, Kamat said in an interview, "Yes, she plays an adult's mother but her role is as powerful as Ajay Devgn`s. Throughout the film, her character indulges in a sparring battle with Ajay." Recently, Tabu played the mother's role in Vishal Bharadwaj's 'Haider'. Also, she had played a cop in 1999's 'Kohram'.
