Three interesting films belonging to diverse genres clash at the box office this weekend. In fact each of these has a distinct subject which makes them a candidate good enough for a theater viewing. Khamoshiyan is an erotic-supernatural outing from the house of Bhatts. Hawaizaada is an untold story of an Indian who created world's first unmanned plane. On the other hand Rahasya is apparently a fictional account of Arushi Talwar murder case.
From the opening standpoint, Khamoshiyan would get a better start due to brand Vishesh Films as well as hit music. Moreover, the promos have been decent too and have managed to find eyeballs. A young affair, it should find a better opening at the multiplexes. Though one doesn't foresee mayhem at the box office on the opening day, the word of mouth should help it during the weekend.
As for Hawaizaada, yet again it would be word of mouth that would come into play. The film has a quality feel to it and is also an expensive affair. Ayushmann Khurranna is getting into an altogether different zone after Vicky Donor, Nautanki Saala and Bewakoofiyaan and hence it would be interesting to see how he fits in well into a period affair. The film would have to rely on some very good reviews to generate further excitement amongst the audience.
Coming to Rahasya, it does have a good ensemble of actors in the form of Kay Kay Menon, Ashish Vidyarthi and Tisca Chopra. However, it has not been promoted at all. That's sad because from the promos, it looks like an interesting suspense thriller. Now if only this messaging would have reached the audience as well, there would have been some opening of sorts that could have been expected for Rahasya.
