Amitabh Bachchan has created a flutter with his statement that if there is an appropriate script then he is ready to work with yesteryear Diva, Rekha. It may be noted that in Amitabh Bachchan`s upcoming film SHAMITABH, Rekha is the surprise attraction.
Though Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha do share space together in the film yet the inimitable Jodi of Amiatbh Bachchan and Rekha coming together after 33 years itself has created buzz and the millions of Amiatbh and Rekha fans are waiting anxiously to watch the film.
Recently at the trailer launch of SHAMITABH, when reporters quizzed Bachchan about the possibility of Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha working together, Big B, without hesitation replied, "Balki keeps threatening me that he wants to design a film together... Let me see if someone has a story which is appropriate... then why not?"

The Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha Jodi was the most sought after pair of the mid 70`s and the duo did many films together GANGA KI SAUGAND (1978), KASME VAADE (1978), MUQADDAR KA SIKANDAR (1978), MR. NATWARLAL (1979), SUHAAG (1979) and SILSILA (1981).
However interestingly the Bachchan and Rekha Jodi that began with the failure of DO ANJAANE, ironically ended with failure of SILSILA!!
Few know that prior to SILSILA, though film magazine were abuzz with the romance of Amiatbh and Rekha but nothing was concrete. However it was Yash Chopra who spilled the beans in a televised interview to BBC about their intimacy and how during the shooting he faced tension between Rekha and Jaya Bachchan, who was then married to Amitabh Bachchan.
Yash Chopra was right in creating sensation for the release of his movie but unfortunately when the film released it failed to attract cine buff and the movie was a huge dude at the box office.
