Three weeks after 'PK', finally a big Bollywood film would be arriving in the form of 'Tevar'. Amongst all the relative newcomers who have arrived in last four-five years, Arjun Kapoor had the most successful 2014, what with '2 States', 'Gunday' and 'Finding Fanny' resulting in around 200 crore coming in. On the other hand Sonakshi Sinha too had a hit in 'Holiday' and a decent grosser in 'Action Jackson'. Both youngsters have a good fan following and that should further help 'Tevar', which is aiming at a pan-India audience with something for multiplexes as well as single screen audience.
Moreover, with Manoj Bajpayee in there, the film gains further credibility. The makers (Eros, Sanjay Kapoor) have made the film on a lavish scale and the promotion has been quite strong as well. Also, the release size of the film is good too and all of this means that even a 40%-50% start (which is pretty much on the anvil) would make sure that there would be a bountiful weekend ahead. The film benefits from the fact that it is a solo release and the PK euphoria has settled down too after being in the running for three weeks.
The film is expected to start 2015 on a good note.
