Buzz is that makers of Raees`, producer Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani has roped in popular Pakistani TV actor Mahira Khan to play opposite the film`s lead Shah Rukh Khan. Directed by Rahul Dholakia, Raees` has SRK playing a Gujarat-based gangster and if all goes well, then Mahira will feature as his wife - a character which makers term it as very complex one.

For days both the director and producers were having a tough time hunting for the leading lady. Names of several actresses including Parineeti Chopra, Sonam Kapoor and Kriti Sanon were also in rounds. However, according to latest speculations, Mahira has got lucky to bag the offer.

Incidentally Mahira has been household name in Pakistan for her TV serial 'Humsafar' along side 'Khoobsurat' famed actor Fawad Khan.

A mafia drama, 'Raees' also has Nawazuddin Siddiqui featuring as a cop.
