There have been several twists and turns in the 12-year hit and run case in the past too. In August, 2014, the Mumbai Police had told the court that the case diary has gone missing in addition to 55 of the 63 case related documents which were already missing but now the court is desperate for the verdict. During the proceedings, the court observed, "It's been 12 years. We must complete the trial by December."
Speaking about the case, well-known lawyer Majeed Memon, says, "Now that the charges in the case have been framed, it is an important milestone and it is expected that now the trial court will not delay in conducting and concluding this trial."
