There is a buzz that Lal is directing Dileep for a movie titled 'King Lair'. It is after a gap that Lal is returning to the director's seat. Of late, we have been seeing more of him as an actor. The return back to direction is with his partner of long, Siddique. The hit duo has a number of blockbusters to their credit, including 'Ramji Rao Speaking', 'Vietnam Colony', 'In Harihar Nagar', 'Kabuliwala', et al. They had gone on to successfully do individual movies later.

For the upcoming movie, the script is by Siddique while the direction would be by Lal. Dileep will play the lead role in the movie. Though Lal has acted with Dileep, this is the first time that Lal is directing him. Like the title 'King Lair' suggests, Dileep plays a hardcore and unrelenting lair. The movie is touted as an out and out comic entertainer. The movie is being produced by Ausepacchan under the banner of Ausepacchan Screen Media Banner. The shooting is scheduled to begin next year.
