Indian Super League (ISL) just got fancier with Hrithik Roshan joining hands with good friend Rajesh Wadhawan as a co-owner of FC Pune City on Thursday. FC Pune City is one of the eight franchises that are all set to compete in the India`s unrivalled football championship that is to be kicked off on Sunday, October 12, 2014.
The actor`s passion for football shows spirit in his first ever association with a sports league. He believes that India needs variety on the sporting front and football is the best bet. The alliance makes him nostalgic-reminding him of his school days when he played more football than cricket.
He continues to say, "I believe in sport. I feel sport teaches a lot of things like discipline, team work, character. It takes a lot of courage to go out on the ground and perform. When you talk about football, it is one game that is truly a man's sport, really tough. I am really happy that I got a chance to get associated with the ISL. Whatever I do I always think about my kids and what can empower them in the future and this is one such thing,"
The Bollywood heartthrob confirmed to be present during the opening ceremony on Sunday. What`s more, he promises his fans to jump on the field and shake a leg if the team wins!
Here`s wishing Hrithik and FC Pune City a great season ahead!
