Both are single phonetic titles and both are the debut to a cinematographer in direction arena; so betting on the pattern, there is every possibility that 'Ko' magic might repeat in 'Yaan' too. With 'Yaan' cinematographer Ravi K Chandran gets established as a director. The film stars Jiiva and Thulasi Nair in the lead and is said to be an action thriller canned by Sreekar Prasad. Added to the 'Ko' pattern, music for 'Yaan' is also composed by Harris Jeyaraj. The project was launched almost two years ago and it is now added to the most anticipated movies of this year, gearing up for release tomorrow.
Actor Jiiva entered the film arena through 'Aasai aasaiyaay' more than a decade ago, but his break as an actor did not happen until his talent was explored in director Ameer's 'Raam'. However, following a couple of projects failed to kick off well on a commercial front. In the recent times, 'Ko' was a phenomenal hit three years ago. Jiiva regained his clout again, but the projects that followed - 'Mugamoodi' by Mysskin and 'Neethaane En Ponvasantham' by Gautam Menon - failed to make it big at the box office. Though 'Nanban' and 'Endrendrum Punnagai' were commercially tremendous hits, Jiiva was only one of the three heroes in it. So 'Yaan' is his first film after 'Ko' as the sole protagonist, which will make for a commercial hit too. And this is the reason Jiiva believes in the pattern that 'Yaan' follows in line with 'Ko'.
