Vidya Balan, who is playing a detective in her forthcoming movie BOBBY JASOOS, is seen in different disguises and is making waves but the man behind the scene who has deserves maximum applause for giving her such fantastic makeup is unknown to the world.
Raaga.Com reveals the identity of this genius to the readers. He is Vidyadhar Bhatte, a makeup artist who has been serving Bollywood since forty years but is still anonymous.
Vidyadhar Bhatte made his debut in 1974 and has been a favorite makeup artist of many legendary actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Dilip Kumar, Aamir Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Aditya Chopra, Rani Mukherji, Vidya Balan and many more. He is one the few makeup artists who introduced prosthetics and other techniques.
Informing about prosthetic make-up, Vidyadhar Bhatte said that prosthetic make-up was First` used in India on the versatile actor Sanjeev Kumar in the movie CHEHRE PE CHEHRA (1981),
Readers may recall Sanjeev Kumar had earlier played nine roles in the movie NAYA DIN NAYEE RAAT. That time there was no prosthetic make-up yet makeup artist Sarosh Modi did an amazing work. Sarosh Modi had the distinction of doing great scar effect on the face of Zeenat Aman in SATYAM SHIVAM SUNDARAM and Rekha in KHOON BHARI MAANG.
As Prosthetic make-up is a time-consuming process many actors do not have the time to take up such roles. Yet we have actors like Kamal Hassan, who keep stunning us with different roles like he bewildered movie buffs with his ten roles in the movie DASAVATHARAM by hiring prosthetic make-up veteran Michael Westmore flown in from Hollywood.
