After trying to become a gangster with little success this time, Mammootty will get back to his roles of an ordinary man. His new movie with director Ranjith Shankar will feature him as a 55-year-old businessman, named Venu.

Titled 'Varsham', the movie showcases the different phases of Venu's life over a span of ten years. The director is but tight lipped about the character and says that this will be a feel good entertainer. The movie will also hint the association of rain (Varsham) in the life of the protagonist. To be produced by Mamootty's production house, 'Playhouse' the movie will also have two heroines in the lead.The movie will have Sujith Vasudev behind the camera while Bijibal will compose the music.

Ranjith Shankar is fresh from his last hit 'Punyalan Agarbathis' with Jayasuriya which ran to hundred days in select theatres.
