Singer Smitha, who has released the song "Wake Up India", supporting Narendra Modi's leadership, has shared her views on politics, the current political scenario, the reason why she is supporting Narendra Modi, her future projects etc in an exclusive interview to Indiaglitz.

It is the reason

In the current scenario of our country, our people need a strong leadership and I genuinely saw a great leader in Narendra Modi. He has done so much to his state and I believe that he can do more than that for our country. I don't know whether I can see any leader like him in my life time. Many educated people in our state know about him, but to tell about his greatness to everyone I have come up with this album.

Modi is the one and only hope to our country now and I don't know where our country goes without him.

Take money

Nothing is going on in a right way in our country. In corruption, our state tops in India. Not only one condition, many conditions have led me to come up with this album.

The condition is such worse that, we can't tell the people not to take money for votes.So I tell the voters to take money, but to vote wisely. Our politicians have made our people think so.

I've seen the development

I've seen the development of Gujarat and was amazed with it.Every state in Gujarat is developed in an unbelievable way. We can say it is the safest state in our country and the people there can go out without locking their homes.

Didn't resist

My grand mother Lakshmi Kanthamma had worked as a Congress leader and even as a minister. She is a staunch follower of Mahatma Gandhi and so she worked for congress. But she was the only one from South India, who opposed Indira Gandhi during emergency and got banned from the party.

I think she didn't work for a party, but she worked according to some principles. My mother was a student leader and worked under Arun Jaitley. So there is no resistance from my family members when I decided to support Narendra Modi.

I surely had the effect of my grand mother on me.

He did a fantastic job

Anantha Sriram has represented by thoughts very well in the "Wake Up India" song. First of all he has written the song and we composed the tune according to them. He has giving some wonderful lyrics and think the song can't be better. He has done a fantastic job for this song.

Will do

I have the idea of hosting a show in Telugu like Aamir Khan's "Satyameva Jayate". But I don't think any channel here will appreciate my idea. The channels here want the commercial elements that will raise their TRP ratings.

Future albums

My career has progressed in a particular manner till 'Ishana'. Ishana is an album I've done with my heart and now this Wake Up India album to raise awareness.

I will come up with an album every 6 months from now and those albums will be meaningful.

Movie songs

Movie songs and roles are never my priority and if they come to me I will definitely to them.

Smitha concluded that the only way we can hope for a change is by voting for Narendra Modi. She also said that every one should use their vote and people who don't vote have no right to question on the problems being faced by them.
