Yesterday director Seeman well known for pro-Tamil activism came in support of actor Vadivelu and his upcoming film Thenaliraman which will be his comeback vehicle after a brief gap in acting career.

Today another director Va.Gauthaman who helmed and acted in the film Magizchi also known for Tamil activism has issued a press statement expressing his dissent over Vadivelu being targeted by Telugu factions opposing the film.

Va.Gauthamnan who has strongly condemned the protestors alleged act of barging into Vadivelu’s residence and threatening him to withdraw the film has stated that a film is a team work and targeting a particular actor is unacceptable.

Va.Gauthaman has went on to state that more than 70% of artistes and technicians operating in Tamil film industry are those who do not know Tamil are those who do not have Tamil as their mother toungue, but they are treated with equal respect and friendliness. The protestors’ activities may spoil this friendly relationship among Tamils and Non-Tamils operating within the industry . Gauthaman like his senior director has cautioned the protestors of consequences if they continue to bother Vadivelu who commands enormous respect and affection among Tamils as well as Non-Tamils.

Thenaliraman faces protest from Telugu factions who fear that the film may portray the Vijayanagar king Krishnadevaraya.
